Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts was born 28 September 1968. Following the move of her family to Australia She made her film debut there with the drama For Love Alone (1986) and then appeared in three TV series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (1991), and Home and Away (1991) as well as in the movie Flirting (1991). Watts moved to America in the year 2000. She struggled initially as an actress. In actual fact she only managed to fill minor roles in films prior to becoming a aspiring actress in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive psychological thriller. Her fame grew internationally by playing the part. Watts was a depressed journalist in The Ring, a horror film remake. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as a grieving mother in Alejandro film 21 Grams (2003). Her popularity was growing with her appearance in I Heart Huckabees (2004). King Kong (2006), Eastern Promises ((2007)) and The International (2009). Watts received nominations for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her part in The Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. She appeared in films like Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) and While We're Young (2015). Watts was also a star in blockbuster films, starring in Divergent (2015)-2016.
